Sambhav Foundation and Udhyam Learning Foundation individually and collaboratively are working to create meaningful livelihood opportunities to interested members from the waste-picking community in Bengaluru—many of whom are exploring opportunities in nano-businesses, tailoring and other creative trades to substantiate earnings and monthly incomes.
While Sambhav Foundation focuses on providing skill building courses to people from the community that allow them to pursue alternate livelihood pathways, Udhyam Learning Foundation takes the route of fostering entrepreneurial mindsets and supporting individuals in starting small businesses that align with their aspirations and skills.
Through entrepreneurship development programs, mentorship, and market access support, their efforts aim to empower individuals to take charge of their economic futures.
Over the course of the Phase 1 and 2, members from the waste picking community have started making thoughtfully curated products and items following their skills training courses.
These products are being sold during events and fairs across the city of Bengaluru. The crochet / amigurumi dolls and flowers have been a crowd favourite!
These products are now available for pre-orders and sales through this online Product Catalogue. Visit the catalogue below to browse the products and place an order.
Do check back periodically as the teams build on the product list to include sustainable, upcycled and eco-friendly items!
