Annapoorni’s entrepreneurial journey has been one of quiet determination and everyday courage.
Chronic back pain forced her to cut back on domestic work, which was her only source of income. But what might have ended in uncertainty became a new beginning. Using a childhood skill taught by her mother, Annapoorni began weaving colourful plastic wire baskets! This became a creative outlet, as well as a means to secure a better future for her children.
Through the Saamuhika Shakti initiative, supported by Udhyam Vyapaar, she received access to quality materials, market linkages, and training to grow this into a meaningful livelihood. Today, her baskets have slowly started to become a steady source of income, helping her support her son’s education and dream of financial independence.
