In Saamuhika Shakti, partners Circular Apparel Innovation Factory and Hasiru Dala are piloting a project where waste pickers operating dry waste collection centres in six wards are being trained to collect, sort and send for recycling all types of clothes — from denim and t-shirts to sarees and suits.
The system stops your old clothes from clogging up landfills, while also allowing waste pickers and sorters to earn more from the valuable work they do.
